Recall the days of yore, on a bright fall Sunday afternoon, when the local Chevrolet dealership had the showroom windows covered so as not to allow the brand new 1972 models to be viewed by the public until the opening hour on Monday morning? Well Monday has arrived and your the first in line to see the truck you've been dreaming about!
As you walk in, the glisten from the showroom lights are on this 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Deluxe long bed 2WD. The color is sky blue with gorgeous white interior. The highlander package includes black/blue plaid inserts on the bench seat and back. The carpet is black with matching blue mats. The dash is equipped with a Delco AM push button radio, factory A/C, and the optional tilt steering was added to manuever the powerful 350 4bbl powered truck effortlessly down the country roads as it smoothly shifts its Turbo 350 automatic.
A set of GM accessories such as stainless steel window air deflectors, fog lights, cargo springs and a fiberglass topper, that made into a bed, were added to allow weekend excursions at the drop of the hat.
Well, you now have the opportunity to re-live this exciting experience! This truck will allow that.
I have enjoyed owning this for the past several years, as it has been preserved in a climate controlled garage under a California Car Cover since its delivery at the local dealership. Oh yes, It is all 100% original! There are 2 flaws-one being where the chain tog rubbed the front fender next to the headlight as it was being unloaded off the transport at the dealership and 2-someone allowed a grocery cart to bump the trim on the tailgate (both are seen in the closeup pictures). The radiator was removed and professionally rodded and reinstalled and the fuel tank was replaced due to fuel deposits. The quadrajet was rebuilt and the latest tech upgrade was done as to the Generals specs. And the throttle response is that of the finest fuel injection!
This truck belongs in a museum since I feel there is only one like it in the world! Feel free to call and visit or stop by and see for yourself if there is no other like it.
At a recent car show I overheard a gentlemen comment as to what a fine restoration had been done to it. I had to chuckle since not one bolt has been turned, other than what I previously mentioned, since the assembly line.
