1951 Mercury Monterey, 396 engine, 8 cylinders, automatic transmission. 1,000 miles on engine, odometer states 92,000 but unknown miles.

Show winning California custom from several years ago. Not new, but VERY nice! Normal minor wear from careful driving and age. Rides and drives well, incredible head-turner; never fails to gather a crowd. Would cost $70k-$90k to duplicate today. Current NYS inspection, registered and on road today. Clear, transferable NYS registration (NY not title state before 1972). Brand new (Oct, 2010) battery, gas tank, fuel pump, oil change and coolant flush. Photos taken 10/27/10.

Body by John's Custom Auto Body, Fowler California. NOT chopped, channeled or sectioned. Great sheet metal everywhere. Nosed, decked, shaved door, trunk handles, solenoid operated. Frenched headlights with cats-eye trim. Frenched '63 Corvette taillights. Hood rounded on corners. '53 Chev grill with extra teeth. Retractable tunneled antenna. Dummy dual spots. Triple dummy lakes pipes. Louvered hood and skirts. Pearl fuscia paint with 8 colors in scallops, gold-leaf striping. Very good chrome. '56 Olds Fiesta hubcaps. Coker wide whites.

Interior by Jerry Morris Upholstery, Selmer, California. White Naugahyde with fuscia piping. Black carpets. Hand made teardrop dash knobs. Remote 10 disc SONY CD changer in trunk, FM radio in glovebox. SONY "Rotary Commander" post mounted controls. Upholstered, detailed trunk with master "kill" switch and fire extinguisher.

Chassis has Nova front clip, Chev 10-bolt rear with 3.43 gears. Electric/air "Ridepro" suspension. Air pump/tank behind trunk side panel. Aluminum traction bars.

Engine/Transmission is '66 396BB Chev bored 60 over, 10 over rods and bearings (402). 9-1/2:1 pistons. 427-385HP cam. Eldebrock "Performer RPM" manifold with Carter "AFB Competition Series" carb. Headers. MSD Comp ignition. "Painless" wiring harness. Milodon oil pan. Thermostat cooling fan. Turbo 400 automatic transmission with new seals. No known smoke or leaks anywhere.

Power disc brakes, Ralston "Ultracruise" cruise control. Power steering, seats, windows. "Air Tique" Mini Comfort System AC/Heat/defrost. System works fine.
