1965 Cobra / 2004 Backdraft Replica 351 stroked to 393 cu 8 cylinder 5 speed manual transmission.
We picked the folks at Backdraft Racing to build this beast. This Cobra started off with a 4in tubular frame and continued from the ground up with the unrivaled handling of the BMW M3 roadster suspension. I picked the proven performance of the Ford 351 Windsor crate engine stroked to 393 cubic inches. With a upgraded MSD ignition system, GT40 heads and the big throats of the 780 cfm Holley carburetor this engine is putting out a estimated 501 horsepower with 450 ft lbs of torque. A double friction McLeod clutch and pressure place setup was used to couple all of those ponies to a beefy Tremac 5 speed transmission short coupled 6in drive shaft on the 373 geared BMW rear end. All of this was set to the ground on 17in BF Goodrich tires on a custom wheel package. The body and cockpit with dual roll bars are all to original configuration of the awesome "60s" monster. Layered with a beautiful Prism red and white striped paint job with several coats of deeping clear coat the lines of this car came out of perfection. Beside mechanical performance this car has a show quality stance and presence.
