1953 Chevrolet 3100 Pick Up Truck, Candy Apple Red/Red
1953 Chevrolet 3100 AD (Advance Design 1/2 Ton Pick Up 350 8 Cylinder Engine, Automatic Transmission.
This restoration was a 2 yr project involving my daughter & myself. We disassembled the truck 100% and started from the ground up. Much love and many hours of tedious work and labor went into making this truck not only dependable but enjoyable to drive for my daughter.
The frame and body were sandblasted prior to metal prep. primer & paint. All the minor body damage was repaired using fiberglass instead of bondo to provide a lifelong repair. The front clip from a 1980 camaro along with the matching rear axle was used to modernize the drive, ride and comfort of this Truck. The remainder of the truck was kept as close to original as possible.
A newly rebuilt 350 motor and 350 transmission were installed along with air conditioning which replaced the original heater box.
The entire truck was reassembled using new stainless steel screws,nuts & bolts except where the original clutch head type screw/bolt was required for original appearance.
Much love and many hours of tedious hours of labor went into making this truck not only dependable but enjoyable to drive for my daughter.
All interior trim (except gauge rings & passenger window) is original and many hours of hand buffing brought back the original luster.
Great attention was given to having no dents or flaws this could distract from the beauty and functionally of this magnificent series of truck.
Many New Items were installed. The rest of the truck is Original.
