1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad in stunning Gypsy Red with a Red & White interior and chrome Keystone Classic wheels; Great factory air car! The original 265 V8 engine has been replaced with an HF code 327 that has a mild street cam, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley four barrel, Mallory Unilite distributor, and Thorley headers connected to a dual exhaust with chrome tips. Fires right up and settles into a smooth idle with a slight lope. There are no known mechanical issues, leaks, or noises; no smoke, and runs nicely on pump gas. The 4-speed Muncie transmission shifts well via a Hurst Competition Plus shifter and the 3.36 rearend provides a nice balance of cruising and acceleration.
Beautiful interior done in correct 1955-only Red & White waffle pattern vinyl. Professionally upholstered with new seat covers front & rear, new red carpets, new sill plates, new red & white interior door panels, and a new white headliner. Original steering wheel. Great original red dash. A trio of digital under dash gauges have been installed along with an Autosound stereo system that looks correct and sounds great. The original air conditioning vents are still there and ready for a Vintage Air installation. All new knobs, all new bezels, all new emblems. No wear, no marks, and in great condition.
Great body with no known dents, dings or waves. I cannot find any bondo or signs of repair and the underside is correctly done in Chassis Black. Stunning paint in Gypsy Red done to show standards in modern acrylic urethane base/clear and then block sanded to a smooth glossy finish. Show chromed bumpers front and rear; fitted with the optional bumper guards and the optional front over-rider. Show chromed front grille, headlight bezels, and rear tail light bezels. Great glass (factory tinted) and all windows operate smoothly including the rear sliders. The tailgate also operates correctly and new spring-loaded cables have been fitted. Brand new chrome Keystone Classics mag wheels with chrome center caps and chrome lug nuts, fitted with brand new raised-white-letter BFGoodrich T/A Radials. Very very nice car; ready for cruises and shows and definitely a trophy contender.
