1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS, Black/Black/White
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 454, 8 Cylinder
This Camaro began it’s life as a no-code SS from the Norwood, OH plant. What is depicted in these brilliant pictures is the original sheet metal assembled in Norwood 42 years ago. That’s right, this car has ALL ORIGINAL sheet metal. It was rust free and has NEVER had any panel work. This stunning car also has the original Muncie 4 speed transmission, Hurst shifter and 12 bolt rear end. Now, I hope that gets all your GM Original juices out of the way, cause that’s about that is original about the car. Hopefully the pictures show how well the door , fender, hood and trunk gaps are. Now if you are looking for that original, crappy GM “fit”, hit the back button and look for one of those bolt on, paneled “recreations” that some people drool over. Because what you see here is a work of art. All body lines and gaps are perfect on this car. Hours upon hours of fitting was done to correct what GM should have done in 1969. The rear spoiler has been refitted, shaped and molded to the trunk lid and rear quarters. The cowl screen has been smoothed to carry the white Z-28 stripes all the way to where it should. Deep glossy black is under the smooth white painted stripes and topped off with 4 smooth coats of clear to give the whole car an unbelievably deep shine.
The underneath of the car was taken to bare metal and built back up with urethane primer and finished off with low gloss back. The same treatment was given to the front and rear sub frame an all components on the front and rear end. Tubular A-Arms were added to the front and DSE lowering springs were added to the rear. CPP four wheel disc brakes with cross drilled rotors add beefy looks and excellent stopping power. BFG rubber wrapped around 17” and 18” American Racing Torque Thrusts completes the chassis.
Under the hood, the firewall was moderately smoothed along with the core support. Inner fenders were smoothed and useless holes filled for better looks. A stainless steel master cylinder tops off a new 8” booster. Now for the heart of this beast, a 454 was bored to a 468 cubic inch behemoth. A Comp Big Mutha Thumpr cam adds just the right amount of rumble. GM performance heads were added along with a GM low rise aluminum intake. The head and intake were brush finished to match the matte gray paint that was applied to the engine and transmission. A custom air breather built in house sits atop of a Edelbrock carb. Underneath of Cowl Induction hood has been smooth with a recessed area for air breather. A custom flanged 3” exhaust with Flowmaster muffler’s was installed and coated in a flat black HPC coating that blends perfectly with the low gloss undercarriage.
The interior completes this magnificent piece of machinery. Brand new black and white Houndstooth seat covers really pull the exterior into the interior. New door and kick panels, carpet, console and gauges look just like this car rolled off the assembly line. The Lecarra steering wheel looks like it should have been in it from the beginning. All windows, side trim, light assemblies, bumpers everything is new!!!!
The car started out as a wonderful piece, but tons of work and improvements were made to what your dad had the opportunity to buy in 1969. If your are looking for a bolt on, panel fixed recreation of an exact 1969 Camaro, you need to hit the back button and find one that was only put together and not built to be something better than it was. Extreme work, design and thought was put into making this car better than it ever was.
This car has just been completed. It has been to one local show, meaning if you buy it, it will be YOUR car. You can show it, stow it or drive it!!!! Email any and all questions you may have. I would encourage any interested party to come and inspect this vehicle.
Car is sold as is, no warranty. I am positive you will be pleased with this vehicle.
