1951 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery, Tan/Grey/Brown, Wood, 53,000 Miles
This stunning restored 1951 Chevy Sedan Delivery was sold new to Reynolds Tobacco Company in Little Rock, Arkansas. In the 60’s it was sold to and used by a plumber in central Arkansas. Its engine failed in the 70’s and the Delivery was cast aside in a salvage in Lowell, Arkansas. The Delivery was found and purchased in 2002 by a restorer who had a 51,000 mile 1951 four door Chevrolet Sedan that he used as a donor to restore the Delivery. When the Delivery was found in the salvage yard the faded Camel cigarette advertisement was still visible on its side panels. Its Data Plate (Fisher Body Number Plate) reads and decodes (in parenthesis) as follows:

A little history – For 1951 the Delivery (better known as the Sedan Delivery) saw a production run of only 20,817 units (Chevrolet held the #1 sales position for 1951 with total production of 1,250,803 passenger cars). The Delivery was classed in the Special series (as opposed to the Deluxe series) and catalogued in passenger car production. Notwithstanding this fact, Deliveries were sold by the truck group. 1951 Chevrolet and Pontiac Deliveries used the same body shell.
This rare and beautiful restored original configuration ’51 Sedan Delivery is in good mechanical condition and is a pleasure to drive; drawing a crowd wherever it goes.
