1950 Ford F4, Multi, 101,000 Miles
This Is A 1950 Ford Truck F-4, Flathead 8, Manual 4 Speed Transmission, The Truck Used To Belong To The US Postal Service And Had An Enclosed Van Type Bed In It. I Purchased The Truck In 1963 From An Individual Who Had Purchased It From The Postal Service, He Had Taken The Van Bed Off, So When I Purchased It, It Had No Bed At All, I Personally Built This Bed In 1963.
The Engine Had Just Been Rebuilt When I Purchased The Truck And In All The Years I Used It, It Never Used Any Oil, It Runs And Drives As Good Now As When It Was In Service, I Have Not Used The Truck At All In 12-15 Years. I’ve Always Kept It In The Shed, It Had Approximately 94,000 Miles On It When I Bought It. Due To The Fact That My Work For This Truck Was Seasonal, And The Grain Elevator Was Only A Few Miles Away, I Have Put No More That 7-8 Thousand Miles On It Since I’ve Owned It.
The Body Work That Has Been Done Was Prior To 1963 When It Belonged To The Postal Service, I Have Never Done Any Body Repair On The Truck, None Of This Was Visible When I Purchased The Truck, There Are A Few Rust Areas.
Mechanically, It Need One Exhaust Manifold And Voltage Regulator, Starts And Runs Good, Great Work Truck.
This Not A Situation Where Someone Gathered Up Some Parts And Tried To Build A Truck, This Is A Real Truck, It Is Sound, Needs 2 New Tires, Also Comes With Tailgate.
