1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback Tribute, White/Blue & White
1965 Ford Mustang GT 350 Fastback Tribute, 302 8 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, garaged, non-smoker, rebuilt by performance machine, 3,000 miles since rebuild. Original odometer removed, new instrument panel installed. New Odometer Mileage does not reflect what is on the car.
This 1965 GT 350 tribute is a very nice car. This is not a show car but could be with your finishing touches. I set up this car so I could have fun with my investment. The outside is a pearl white tri-coat with guardsmen blue stripes (painted on). The size and placement of the strips are correct. The blue stripping down the sides are painted. (Not vinyl) The car was completely disassembled an epoxy coat was then applied. Then primed and painted. 3M soundproofing added to both sides of the under carriage (flooring). The engine was built by Precision Machine and balanced by Ted Eaton. 302 block 289 heads. The heads have over sized valves 1.90” intake and 1.60” exhaust because 289/302 heads did not breathe enough stock. Hydraulic roller cam Comp Cam 290HR and Roller rockers and many other upgrades. This set up is still street able but could get away from you. Don’t tell your big block friends then see what happens. The exhaust starts with Headman Headers to 2” pipe, H pipe, Flowmaster mufflers and then 2” pipe side exiting. The transmission is a C-4 with shift kit, B&M 2800, 3 forward bump shifting is perfect for the above power. Sorry I did not want a trans break. The Auburn Traction lock differential with 376 gears is a perfect compliment to the above. The drive shaft should be changed and a safety loop installed. The interior is blue and white pony with new foam. I just could not get myself to install all black interior in a car in the South. The most important change was a new Painless wiring kit. Every wire is label for any future changes or modification. 40 year old wiring???
The front end has not be dropped down yet per Shelby spec.
The car is not completely finished but I am willing to answer any questions you may have about the car. Hagerty’s first appraisal in 2005 was $37,500..00 then has increased since. I would consider this car to be 90% but is a classic ever finished??? Was told it is a solid 7 or 8. Full asking price gets to take my spare 4 speed transmission.
