1971 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, Custom, Blue/White, 700 Miles
1971 Custom VW Bug Convertible Karmen Edition is for sale for the first time.
It belongs to the granddaughter of Rene Lalique, creator jeweler and glassmaker who founded the prestigious LALIQUE.
This car was acquired in 1972 from the displacement of Marie-Claude LALIQUE to get to and from the plant in Wingen and warehouse located in the Parisian mode City region.
She also served many of her personal journey she undertook with her friends in France and Spain.
Now deceased, her husband decided to part with this jewel a 60 street rod look with new technology. The paint is Teal and White two tone inside and out, bumpers are 50 style smooth without guards. Small lights on top of the fenders, all moldings are new German OE glass and window chrome are OE polished chrome. Weather strips have been replaced throughout. Running boards are aircraft grade billit aluminum, fender guards are German replacements. Rear lamps are OE.
Interior is all new: carpets, upholstery, panels, dash, top 4 headliner. Everything was replaced with OE colors and vinyl stamped grain, window cranks are aircraft grade built aluminum. They are custom kick panels installed to house 6 inch Sony x-plode speakers. In the rear there is a custom box housing 2 high output 6x9 speakers and a 10 inch subwoofer. The sound system looks like it could be OE.
The stereo is CD 4 DVD with a 3 inch high definition screen and is powered with a 750 watt 5 channel surround amp. Brakes have been replaced with premium quality German brakes.
The engine is a brand new high performance 2200 cc dual carb powerhouse built buy Pat at the world renown Speed Shop CB Performance in southern California and dynod at 165 hp. The wheels are deep dish Porsche 956 with VW caps and the tires are performance Good Year Eagle GT.
This car is a real head turner driving down the street, at the show or in your garage.
